Spontaneity App Update: Building an ADHD-Friendly Reminder Solution

Published: at

By Henry Doce

Since my last update on Spontaneity, my ADHD-focused reminder app, I’ve made significant strides and faced some challenges. Here are the key highlights:

Building Community and Sharing Progress on Bluesky

Bluesky, an emerging decentralized social media platform, has become my primary channel for microblogging this journey. The developer and indie hacker communities have flourished there, providing invaluable connections and insights.

One of my key initiatives is fostering a vibrant “Latinos in Tech” community on Bluesky. If you’re interested in joining this growing network, follow me on Bluesky and send a DM!

I’m also exploring the potential of AT Protocol and Bluesky’s API for future projects.

Spontaneity Development: Prioritizing Quality Over Speed

I’ve made the decision to extend Spontaneity’s development timeline. While I initially aimed to launch an MVP before January 2025, I’ve realized that rushing could compromise the app’s effectiveness for our ADHD users.

My new target launch for the MVP is summer 2025. This extended timeline will allow me to:

  1. Incorporate more user feedback into my randomized reminder system.
  2. Refine the ADHD-friendly features based on the latest research.
  3. Ensure robust testing of the push notification system.

Spontaneity Landing Page: Gathering User Insights

I’m thrilled to announce that the Spontaneity landing page is now live at TrySpontaneity.app! This page showcases my vision for thoughtful, randomized reminders designed specifically for the ADHD brain.

I invite you to explore the landing page and provide feedback on my concept and design. Your insights will be crucial in shaping the future of this ADHD productivity tool.

Looking Ahead: Focused Development and Growth

As I move forward, I’m reevaluating my priorities to ensure maximum impact. My focus areas include:

These efforts will contribute to making Spontaneity not just another reminder app, but a truly transformative tool for ADHD management.

If you’d like to get in contact, try reaching me on Bluesky first. LinkedIn works too, but I don’t check it often.
